Camrose County Office Complex Heat-Conversion
Initially inspired as the first "Alberta Wood Energy Demonstration Project, the Camrose County Office Complex represented an ideal opportunity for the integration of renewable biomass-energy into a community building, demonstrating the economic, environmental and social benefits of an innovative renewable energy project that combines a Wood Biomass Heating System with the feedstock from a Short Rotation Coppice Willow Plantation.
Based upon Biogenics' comprehensive feasibility evaluation and pre-design, our team assisted Camrose County with the planning and implementation of a state of art biomass heating system at the County Office Complex. The fully automated 150 kW "base-load" system interconnected with the pre-existing heating technology and was designed to accomodate almost 99% of the building annual regular heat load requirements.
In 2011 the Camrose project won the "Minister's Award for Municipal Excellence".
